Applying for an EUDA traineeship

Where are EUDA traineeship vacancies advertised?

EUDA traineeship opportunities are advertised on our official EUDA vacancies page. We recommend checking this page regularly for the latest updates.

When are applications open?

Applications are open once a year, usually around September or October.

How do I apply?

To apply, please create a profile in our e-recruitment tool and complete the application for the specific traineeship position you are interested in. Applications must be submitted online as we do not accept unsolicited or postal applications.

I come from a country that is not a Member State of the EU, can I apply?

Yes, candidates from outside the EU may apply. However, in line with EU policy, priority is given to candidates who are nationals of an EU Member State, Norway or Türkiye.

I will complete my three years of studies after the deadline for applications. Can I apply?

No, to be eligible, you must have completed a degree of at least three years or studied for at least three years by the deadline for applications.

I have a degree from a non-EU country. Am I eligible to apply for a traineeship?

Yes, degrees obtained outside the EU are accepted, provided you can present an equivalence certificate from an EU Member State. We recommend contacting the relevant academic authorities or embassy in your country to guide you in obtaining this equivalency certification.

I have already done a traineeship at another European institution. Can I apply?

Yes, you are still eligible to apply for a traineeship at the EUDA.

May I apply for more than one traineeship opportunity?

Yes, candidates may apply for multiple traineeship positions. Each application should be tailored to the specific role, and a separate application must be submitted for each position.

Is there an age limit for applying for a traineeship at the EUDA?

No. There is no age limit for applying for a traineeship at the EUDA. The EUDA values diversity and encourages applications from candidates of all age groups.

If I have a disability or special needs, can I apply?

Absolutely. The EUDA encourages candidates with disabilities to apply. Please inform us of any adjustments or arrangements needed in relation to your disability so that we can accommodate your needs. Upon written justification you might receive a supplement to your grant.

I am having difficulties submitting my application. What should I do?

If you encounter issues with your application, please contact our support team at recruitment@euda.europa.eu. We recommend reaching out as early as possible to ensure your application is submitted on time.

Will I receive a notification regarding the outcome of my application?

Due to the large volume of applications received, only candidates invited to the interview will be notified.

About EUDA traineeships

When does the traineeship start?

EUDA traineeships typically commence between January and March each year. Exact dates will be confirmed upon selection.

What is the duration of an EUDA traineeship?

EUDA traineeships are for up to nine months and may be renewed for another three months. The maximum duration of a traineeship is one year.

Can I do a part-time traineeship?

No, all traineeships at the EUDA are full-time (40 hours per week). This allows trainees to gain comprehensive experience within the agency.

How much will my traineeship grant be?

The amount of the traineeship grant is published in the call for applications.

How can I find accommodation?

Accommodation arrangements are the responsibility of the trainee. However, the EUDA will provide a welcome handbook with resources and contacts to assist you in settling into Lisbon, including information on popular accommodation options and tips for finding housing in the city.
