Huumetilanne Suomessa 2020

Summary

The Drugs in Finland 2020 report brings together the latest key Finnish statistical and research data on drugs.
The authors of the report represent Finnish drug expertise from different fields of science and administration.
Until 2014, the Drug Situation in Finland reports were published annually in Finnish and English and served as monitoring reports for the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA). Reporting to
EMCDDA has changed its format and it has therefore no longer been necessary to compile the reports. However, the “Situation on Drugs in Finland” report has been a popular and widely used publication, and there have long been calls for it to be updated. The report now published by
responds to this request.
The authors are part of the National Drug Information Network, which reports annually on the drug situation in Finland to the EMCDDA. The work is coordinated by the EMCDDA Finland Reitox Focal Point, based at the National Institute for Health and Welfare, but the network brings together experts from different organisations.

The report serves as a handbook on various drug-related topics ranging from the situation, policy, crime, deprivation, prevention and harm reduction to treatment. It describes the drug landscape in 2020, a year in which drug use and related harms have been on the rise and public debate on the issue has been lively. The publication is available in Finnish online and in print. The Drug Situation in Finland 2020 report is accompanied by the publication of Research in Focus, which presents the drug situation in a concise and phenomenon-oriented way.
