Annual EMCDDA expert meeting on the Key Indicator ‘Prevalence and patterns of drug use among the general population’ (GPS)

This year’s meeting of the general population survey (GPS) indicator focused on patterns, prevalence and trends in general, the European Model Questionnaire (EMQ) modules for monitoring alcohol use, new psychoactive substances and perceived availability. More than forty countries provided national status reports on the GPS indicator in their countries by sharing data, which were later compiled in an online publication called ‘2016 compilation of national abstracts’. In the framework of the IPA5 project, delegates from all candidate and potential candidate countries were also invited to participate. Those attending the meeting this year were Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina (with the presence of one expert from the Republika Srpska), Kosovo, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
