CND special event

A special commemorative event of the sixty-third session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs, devoted to the United Nations International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, is being held virtually on Friday, 26 June 2020, starting at 2:00 p.m., Vienna Time (CEST).

On this occasion, the World Drug Report 2020 will be launched, followed by a discussion on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the world drug situation, from a regional perspective, co-sponsored by the EU and UNODC.

The EMCDDA and Europol are joining representatives of the EU institutions at the event to provide the European perspective. Following opening remarks from Floriana Sipala of the European Commission, Europol Executive Director Catherine De Bolle will speak on the panel and EMCDDA Director Alexis Goosdeel will deliver the closing remarks.
