Summary
This survey aims to better understand addiction in prison settings, and is promoted by Instituto para os Comportamentos Aditivos e as Dependências (ICAD) in collaboration with Direção-Geral de Reinserção e Serviços Prisionais (DGRSP) and implemented by an external contractor (IMR – Instituto de Marketing Research).
It is intended to obtain information which allows for a better understanding of addictions in prison settings, and subsequently define policies and health strategies as well as allocate adequate resources to the health needs of the prison system. It also seeks to obtain information that is comparable to previous national and international surveys conducted in the past.
