
From 8–10 October, an EUDA delegation is attending a meeting of the European Union and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) in Brussels to discuss shared challenges in the drugs field.
8 October: EUDA delegation attends EU-CELAC meeting. The EUDA will contribute to discussions on key elements for bi-regional cooperation and the sharing of information between drug agencies. Topics under debate include new psychoactive substances and other synthetic drugs, emerging trends and challenges and the importance of Early Warning Systems in both regions. Talks will highlight EUDA international cooperation with Latin American and Caribbean countries through bilateral working arrangements and technical cooperation projects such as the Cooperation Programme between Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union on Drugs Policies (COPOLAD).
9 October: EUDA and CELAC countries meet to discuss current and future cooperation.
10 October: Technical committee meeting of the EU-CELAC coordination and cooperation mechanism on drugs. This meeting will be extended to CELAC Heads of national drug agencies.
