Webinar: Health and social responses for drugs in prisons — implications for Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe

Objective: The main aim of this webinar is to share knowledge on the issue of prisons and drugs and how it is addressed in different world regions. The webinar will discuss related challenges and the possibilities for addressing drugs and prison in different countries in Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.

In conversation with:

  1. Linda Montanari, Principal scientist, European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA).
  2. Carina Ferreira Borges, Regional advisor on alcohol, illicit drugs and prison health, WHO Regional Office for Europe, World Health Organization (WHO).

  1. Can you share your knowledge regarding health and social responses for drugs in prisons (focusing on your region)?
  2. What are best practices in your region regarding the promotion of health and social responses in prisons?
  3. How do you see emerging trends and new risks in incarcerated people in the coming years? How will you anticipate these changes and what responses will be required?

Length: 1.5 hours.
