Technical visit to Armenia under EU4MD II project

Yerevan, Armenia

The purpose of the visit (1–3 April) is to review the ongoing cooperation between the EUDA and its Armenian partners. Meetings will focus on emerging trends in the drug market and on the possibilities of enhancing Armenia’s preparedness in responding to drug-related health and security threats in a timely way. A key agenda item is the renewal of the bilateral cooperation agreement between Armenia and the EUDA, originally signed (with the EMCDDA) in 2015.

The three-day visit will include talks with representatives of the: Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Health, Security Council Office, National Security Service, State Revenue Committee and Investigative Committee of the Police.

Additional meetings will explore the implementation of the European School Survey on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD) in Armenia. Also to be discussed is further support at national level for developing competence in science-based prevention, in line with the European Prevention Curriculum (EUPC) and related resources.
