Professionals, academics and experts from the Western Balkan region and European Neighbourhood Policy countries will have an opportunity to participate in the 2022 European Drugs Winter School (EDWS), thanks to scholarships offered through two EMCDDA projects: the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA7) and EU4Monitoring Drugs (EU4MD). The online course, running from 14–25 February 2022, will explore the theme 'Cannabis: practice, policies and debates in the EU and beyond'.
Organised by the EMCDDA and the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL), the two-week course will feature live lunchtime lectures with experts and practitioners, followed by afternoon exercises. Virtual fieldwork tours will also be offered. The sessions will be recorded and made available for subsequent viewing. Those wishing to obtain credits will be required to complete exercises and an exam.
The course will be conducted in English and students should have good written and spoken knowledge of the language. Increasing the offer of online training is in line with the EMCDDA’s digital transformation objectives.
Deadline for course applications: 5 December 2021 (Early Bird) | 23 January 2022 (Final).
Deadline for EDWS scholarship applications: 5 December 2021.
The European Drugs Summer School (EDSS) will run from 27 June to 8 July 2022.
Scholarships (covering course fees) are also available.
