The EMCDDA and the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL) are delighted to announce the availability of bursaries for the 2024 European Drugs Winter and Summer Schools. The bursaries are being offered via the agency's international cooperation programmes.

- European Drugs Winter School (EDWS) [external website] (26 February–8 March 2024, online)
Focus: Gender-sensitive approaches to drug-related issues - European Drugs Summer School (EDSS) [external website] (24 June–5 July 2024, Lisbon)
Focus: Psychostimulants in Europe: health and security issues
Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance 8 (IPA8): Western Balkans
Bursaries (4): Two bursaries for the EDWS and two for the EDSS. These bursaries will cover the registration fee and, in the case of the EDSS, the round trip to Lisbon. Accommodation and meals outside of the school programme are not included.
Eligible: Professionals, academics or experts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
Procedure: Candidates should first register directly on the ISCTE-IUL website for the EDWS or EDSS. They should then send an e-mail to IPA@emcdda.europa.eu stating for which bursary they are applying (EDWS or EDSS). The EMCDDA may contact applicants to schedule an online interview for selection purposes.

EU4Monitoring Drugs (EU4MD) II: European Neighbourhood Policy area
Bursaries (4): Two bursaries for the EDWS and two for the EDSS. These bursaries will cover the registration fee. In the case of the EDSS, the round trip to Lisbon will also be covered, plus accommodation and a reduced per diem.
Eligible: Professionals, academics or experts from Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine**, Tunisia and Ukraine.
Procedure: Candidates should first register directly on the ISCTE-IUL website for the EDWS or EDSS. They should then send an e-mail to EU4MD@emcdda.europa.eu stating for which bursary they are applying (EDWS or EDSS). The EMCDDA may contact applicants to schedule an online interview for selection purposes.

COPOLAD III: Latin America and the Caribbean
Bursaries (8): Four bursaries for the EDWS and four for the EDSS. These bursaries cover the registration fee only. All other expenses (travel, accommodation) should be borne by the participant.
Eligible: Professionals, academics or experts from Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, El Salvador, Ecuador, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela and Uruguay.
Procedure: Candidates should first register directly on the ISCTE-IUL website for the EDWS or EDSS. They should then send an e-mail to copolad@emcdda.europa.eu stating for which bursary they are applying (EDWS or EDSS). This should be accompanied by a one-page motivation letter and a two-page CV. The EMCDDA may contact applicants to schedule an online interview for selection purposes.
