Registration opens today for the next European Conference on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies (Lisbon Addictions 2024) taking place in Lisbon from 23–25 October 2024.
The multidisciplinary event will showcase cutting-edge scientific research in the addictions field and explore challenges relating to illicit drugs, alcohol, tobacco, screen addiction, gambling and other addictive behaviours. The conference, now in its 5th edition, is intended to inform policy development and practice through a better understanding of contemporary issues in addiction science and addictive behaviours. Previous editions have welcomed over 1 000 participants.
As in previous editions, the conference will be organised under thematic tracks. In 2024, these are:
- Empowering the workforce
- Prevention of risky and harmful behaviours
- Alcohol: risks, clinical considerations, treatments and outcomes
- Addiction and mental health
- Hepatitis C, other infectious diseases and drug-related harms
- Behavioural addictions
- Drug policy: latest developments and new challenges
- Open track
The overarching theme for this year's conference — and the title of the first track — is 'Empowering the workforce of the future'.
