Policy, crime and markets unit – Crime markets and precursors traineeship (TR/2026/PCM-CMP)

Introduction

The trainee will be allocated within the Policy, crime and markets unit, and the selected candidate will be reporting to the Head of the Crime markets and precursors sector.

The successful applicant will be requested to perform the following main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Support the establishment of the EUDA system for monitoring drug precursors in the EU;
  • Support data collection and analysis regarding international drug markets;
  • Support the preparation of dashboards on drug offers on darknet drug markets and other areas;
  • Support the project managers in the preparation and execution of contracts;
  • Support the preparation of data for and contribute to the sector’s products, such as briefing notes and reports.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union, Norway or Türkiye. Candidates from other countries may apply.
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws concerning military service.
  • Be physically fit to perform the duties of the post.
  • Have completed the first cycle of a higher education course (university education) and obtained a full degree or its equivalent by the closing date for applications. 
  • Have a thorough knowledge of oral and written English. 

General selection requirements:

  • A completed university degree in chemistry or forensic chemistry, or in another relevant field such as criminology, policing studies, international studies, social science or political science.
  • Advantageous: qualified chemist/forensic chemist.
