Today, the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA) launches a public consultation to help shape its forthcoming Strategy 2030. The consultation forms part of a broader stakeholder engagement process supporting the development of the strategy, which will define the agency’s strategic priorities for the coming years.
The consultation seeks views on the future role of the agency, the relevance and value of its activities, future priorities and areas for improvement. The results will contribute directly to the draft of the Strategy 2030, alongside input gathered through other consultation activities.
The strategy is being developed at a pivotal moment for the agency. On 2 July 2024, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) became the EUDA, following the entry into force of the agency’s new founding regulation. The expanded mandate has strengthened the EUDA’s operational role in preparedness, early warning, threat assessment and support to EU institutions and Member States.
Europe continues to face evolving drug-related health and security challenges in an increasingly uncertain geopolitical environment. Against this backdrop, the strategy aims to position the EUDA as a forward-looking, resilient and adaptable agency, capable of anticipating and responding to emerging drug-related threats across Europe.
The survey is open from 5 June to 3 July 2026.
