Summary

This statistical report, published by the ICAD, the Portuguese focal point, presents prevalence estimates and usage patterns of various illicit drugs (cannabis, cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, LSD, amphetamines, NPS, hallucinogenic mushrooms) among the general Portuguese population (ages 15–74), young people, prison population, and students for the year 2023. It includes lifetime and 12‑month prevalence rates, trends over time (e.g. 2012–2022), and risk assessments such as the Cannabis Abuse Screening Test (CAST).
