Summary
The Fifth National Survey on Drug Use in General Population, Portugal 2022 (GPS 2022) was conducted by CICS.NOVA – Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences of NOVA FCSH for SICAD – General Directorate for Intervention on Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies.
This study follows earlier surveys carried out in 2001, 2007, 2012 and 2017 consolidating the knowledge on the use of licit and illicit drugs and users’ profiles, and also social representations on risk behaviours, gaming and gambling and use and addiction to Internet.
We follow the indicators used by the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction) to allow international comparison. The data analysis is presented considering sex, age groups and regions (NUT II), indicators that enable a comparison with the results of the previous GPS reports.
