International cooperation bursaries offered for European Drugs Winter and Summer Schools

The EUDA and Iscte — University Institute of Lisbon are delighted to announce the availability of bursaries for the 2026 European Drugs Winter and Summer Schools (EDWS, EDSS). The bursaries are offered via the EUDA technical cooperation projects, funded by the European Union.

Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA) project: Western Balkans

Bursaries: A limited number of bursaries for the EDWS and for the EDSS will be made available for citizens from the Western Balkan region under the IPA8 project. These bursaries will cover the registration fee and, in the case of the EDSS, the round-trip to Lisbon. Accommodation and meals outside of the school programme are not included.

Eligible: Professionals, academics, or experts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.

Procedure: Candidates should send an e-mail to IPA@euda.europa.eu stating for which bursary they are applying (EDWS or EDSS). The following documents must be added to the email: a concise CV (maximum two pages), a motivation letter (maximum one page), and a reference letter from the candidate's supervisor. The EUDA may contact applicants to schedule an online interview for selection purposes.

EU4Monitoring Drugs II project: Eastern and Southern Partnership countries

Bursaries (4): Two bursaries will be offered for the EDWS and two for the EDSS under the EU4Monitoring Drugs II project. These bursaries will cover the registration fee. In the case of the EDSS, the round trip to Lisbon will also be covered, along with accommodation and a reduced per diem.

Eligible: Professionals, academics, or experts from Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine**, Tunisia and Ukraine.

Procedure: Candidates should send an email to EU4MD@euda.europa.eu specifying for which bursary they are applying (EDWS or EDSS). The following documents must be added to the email: a brief CV (maximum two pages), a motivation letter (maximum one page), and a reference letter from the candidate's supervisor. The EUDA may contact applicants to schedule an online interview for selection purposes.

Deadlines for both IPA8 and EU4MD II bursary applications:

  • 31 January 2026 for the EDWS.
  • 15 March 2026 for the EDSS.
